Sharon D. Hampton-Vine
My name is Sharon D. Hampton-Vine, and I am the President of Barriers Breakthrough Non-Profit Organization. I am a devoted mother and a wife of 21 years. I received a culinary arts degree, which led me to start my own catering company called Silk Napkins which has been in business for 15 years, as well as an Associate of Arts degree in business. I currently work for the school district and my passion for youth and young adults runs deep. Throughout my life journey, I have witnessed firsthand the struggles that many youth and young adults face, particularly when it comes to food insecurity. As a result, I send 30 students home every Thursday with a sack full of food to in sure they do not go hungry and eat over the weekend.
My commitment to serving my community stems from my upbringing. I come from a long line of family members who have always been dedicated to supporting those in need. My mother, in particular, instilled in me the importance of giving back, and I carry that lesson with me every day. Throughout work and serving the community, I hope to not only provide immediate relief but also inspire others to extend kindness and support to those who need it most.
This initiative is more than just providing resources to help youth and young adults cross barriers, it is about showing them that they are seen, valued, and cared for. The hope is to continue expanding this effort, reaching more youth and finding ways to make a lasting impact in their lives. I will continue to do my part in ensuring that they all have the resources they need to thrive and be successful in life.
Ivory Mason Williams
My name is Ivory Mason Williams, and I am the founder of Barriers Breakthrough Non-Profit Organization. I am a mother to a son and granddaughter who mean the World to me. I am certified peer support, I hold a bachelors in social work, and a masters in mental health & wellness. I have owned and operated a business for over 20 years and I currently work at a seriously mentally ill clinic (SMI) for adults. I was blessed as a young child to see my grandmothers as care givers to individuals and families in the community, and I feel as though that same passion runs through my blood. As a young adult, and currently it has been effortless and self-gratifying for me to serve in the community whether serving at a food bank, church, preparing sack lunches and distributing them to the homeless on the streets, organizing blanket donations etc.
I started Barriers Breakthrough for several reasons, one of which is my son who struggles with addiction. I assist with many adult clients at the clinic who have fallen through the cracks when they were children and young adults such as my son because parents and the education system were not prepared or given resources to address issues such as mental health awareness. One of many goals of Barriers Breakthrough is to provide valuable resources, education, and preventative awareness that may not be popular, however it will address critical issues that youth and young adults have to deal with and face in today’s society. It matters to me and my team members at Barriers Breakthrough to see youth & young adults receive resources that are going to help open doors, guide them in the right direction to a stable and successful future.
Lisa Odom Zaire
My name is Lisa Odom Zaire and I am a wife, step mom to a son and 2 beautiful grand boys. As the CEO of Barriers Breakthrough my goal is to help youth and young adults navigate through personal, social, and mental health barriers that hold them back from achieving their full potential.
I never imagined that watching my parents successfully persevere through societal challenges, while raising six biological daughters, one bonus daughter, and two foster sons would lead me to continue their legacy...keeping families strong, making friends part of family and always encouraging those in need. My journey began with watching my father grow his service station into a gas station, convenience store, car wash. Then turning around and helping other family members and friends enter the gas station industry. I have been an entrepreneur since childhood, whether negotiating more pay than a candy bar and soda pop for stocking shelves to managing a number one in sales gas station in the Midwest to later opening a nail salon to co-owning my current business, Deeply Rooted AZ Salon and becoming a Realtor with Century 21.
I have lost two immediate family members to suicide. Watched and supported others through mental, health and drug issues. I know that these issues are not just in my family, but in most families. Since my most recent loss of my nephew, it has propelled me to engage in helping others through these challenges.
With over 30 years in the beauty industry, I’ve witnessed firsthand how confidence —both internal and external — can transform lives. My passion for my work in the Beauty industry and as a realtor has assured me that success isn’t just about financial wealth or external appearance…it’s about building lives that reflect true purpose. The feeling that I get when I help others gain their confidence and develop trusting relationships that see them through life’s journey and accomplishment, is an unexplainable euphoria. I truly love the opportunity to uplift people of all ages, equip, and empower youth and young adults to reach their fullest potential.
The opportunity to help launch Barriers Breakthrough, is a journey that I am privileged and honored to be a part of. To be able to provide, valuable resources, mentorship, and community support that will create lasting change for youth and young adults is my dream work.
I believe that when one person rises, they create space or others to rise with them… thus why we must break those barriers…together.
